Portsalon, Donegal
A classic seaside links course set along Ballymastocker Bay and the Atlantic coast with sand‑dune fairways, coastal winds and panoramic views of sea and mountains. The routing threads through dramatic dunes and beach‑backed terrain, offering a challenging but picturesque links test especially on windy days. First established in 1891 and remodelled by Pat Ruddy (with later improvements overseen by 2014 Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley), the course is celebrated as one of Ireland’s hidden gems.
